Moving Prom Has Seniors Confused

Central Hardin’s proms have been held at Pritchard community center since 1991 when the school first opened. Prom at Pritchard has become a tradition.

But this year is different.

Prom for 2020 seniors is being moved to Paraquet Springs in Shepherdsville because of remodeling at Pritchard Community Center in  March and April of 2020.

Prom is just about every senior’s favorite time of the year. Students get dressed up all nice and clean with their dates. Prom is a one in a lifetime experience.

The moving of prom was declared official last spring. Many seniors and parents are tied between the moving being a fantastic idea or a dangerous one.

Paraquet Springs decorates all of the building, and they provide snacks for the students at prom. Senior sponsor and media specialist Rebecca Rawlings thinks this is a plus.

“Less stress on me about decorating,” Rawlings said.

“I truly think this move is going to be amazing and fun! “ senior Hailey Marsh said.

Principal Tim Isaacs asks students to “think about it this way: is there really any other place in Elizabethtown big enough for the 2020 class plus more? This was the next best solution, he said.

If this new place for prom doesn’t turn out the way Rawlings and Isaacs want it to be, they have Pritchard reserved for the class of 2021. But if it does, they also have Paraquet Springs reserved.

The price of the ticket will be decided at a later date.

“Mr. Issacs would love nothing more than to help save you money,” Rawlings said.
