Are you looking for a good way to spend your Fall Break? There are multiple local attractions and events that can fill this exciting time.

October the seventh begins a week of opportunity to do with whatever you may please to, which may seem a bit overwhelming.

You must determine an infinitely difficult decision, what shall I do with all of this open schedule. The Hardin County community has much to offer when making this choice.

Monday starts an optimum experience filled vacation, right here at home.

Start your adventure off right with the movie Cinderella at the historic State Theatre in Elizabethtown, or see a blockbuster at either the Crowne Pointe Theater or the Movie Palace.

To continue your journey you may take a stroll in downtown Elizabethtown. In the square, you shall find some sweet boutiques such as The Cute Little Shop, or rather restaurants and hangouts like Impellizzeri’s and Vibe coffee shop.

Then perhaps walk to the Hardin County History Museum downtown to take an extravagant trip through our town’s past.

Maybe you could even be a cheerleader for your city, cheer on the Elizabethtown Area Youth Football at the Elizabethtown Sports Park.

Tuesday morning you may then take an educational and quite interesting tour of the historic Brown Pusey House and also the Cunningham Garden.

Or at 11 a.m. attend a showing of Mary Poppins at the State Theatre and also a helping of entertaining craft activities.

If you are intrigued by nature, perhaps you could take a hike on one of Elizabethtown’s sixteen trails, like the Billy Creek Trail or the Freeman Lake Trail, as Elizabethtown is Kentucky’s first urban trail town.

After your trail in Freeman Park, you may rest for a picnic at one of the park’s pavilions. While you are there, take a look at the Summit One-Room Schoolhouse in the park. Simply just enjoy the peace of the calming lake.

After nightfall, take a spooky trip through Sinister Tombs one of Hardin County’s two haunted houses, located in Eastview.

Wednesday, you may watch yet another movie at the State Theatre, part of the Fall Break experience, The Karate Kid.

Another event to attend Wednesday morning is the Hardin County Farmers Market. Starting at 9 a.m. enjoy nature’s resources at their finest.

Then if you feel adventurous, wander through The Pumpkin Wagon pumpkin patch. On St. John road, encounter pumpkins, produce, and a fun-filled kids area.

Thursday or really any day throughout the week you could take an all-day trip to the Thomas Dairy Farm and Market.

Starting at 10 a.m. you can enjoy fun for the whole family and friends, with combo deals for twelve or more people. Have a true adventure at the animal farm, Walker T’s Fun Zone, and the mega slides.

At dark, you can then enjoy a bonfire and flashlight corn maze at the Thomas Dairy Farm. You may also tour The Woods and Zombie Paintball for those who are more drawn to scary endeavors.

Friday jump for joy at the city’s attraction Sky’s the Limit. Proceed with your amazing week by visiting the home of indoor trampoline fun.

Later that evening at 7 p.m., the Fort Knox Federal Credit Union hosts a concert at the State Theatre Complex. J.D. Shelburne and Little Texas will preform to conclude a wonderful week with music and the starlight.

Fall Break is marvelous just for the fact of being a relaxing pause of the everyday stress of high school, but you might as well make the best of the time you have.
