The Lady Bruin soccer team beat Bardstown last night under the lights to make it to the finals tonight for the first time in six years. They will play Bethlehem tonight, who beat Etown in their semi-final game last night 3-1. The Lady Bruins have not gone to the finals since 2013, and have not won it since 2011.

Last night, the girls beat the favored team, Bardstown, in a close, suspenseful semi-final game. The game was evenly matched, and in 80 minutes, the score was still 0-0. In overtime, the game remained scoreless, bringing both teams to face off in penalty kicks for the win.

Freshmen Taylor Eidson and Haylie Panter, as well as sophomore Peyton Rabb, made all three shots. This combined with junior Bruin Olivia Fogle stepping up to save all three shots from the Bardstown Lady Tigers, won the game. Finally.

The Lady Bruins have had a very successful season overall, with a current 15-8-2 record, and a 7-1-0 record in districts before the tournament. This placed the team in first seed to win districts, but only before a heartbreaking loss to Etown in the final.

To come support your team, the game is $5 entry for students and $7 for adults, with no re-entry allowed. Don’t forget to wear your Bruin pride, and come ready to cheer for your team.
