VOLLEYBALL

The girls’ varsity volleyball team, coached by Bill Rineker, went 34-6 this season. They took home the District Championship title on Oct. 20 after beating Elizabethtown 3-2 but fell short to Elizabethtown in the Region Championship on Oct. 27. Senior Addie Atcher led the team in kills with 612, setting a new single-season school record, and additionally set a new school record of 1704 career kills. Sophomore Sam Nelson led the team in both digs, with 525, and aces, with 51. Sophomore Larkin Taylor led the team in blocks with 80, and senior Makenna Cox led the team in assists with 599. This year’s seniors had a career record of 128 wins and only 20 losses in their four years of playing.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

The girls’ varsity soccer team, coached by Justin Maddock, went 13-8-2 this season. They were named District Champions on Oct. 6 after beating Elizabethtown 1-0, but fell short to Bardstown in the Region tournament on Oct. 10. Senior Haylie Panter was the leading scorer with 20 goals. Senior Taylor Eidson was right behind her with 19 goals and led the team with 13 assists. Junior goalkeeper Lilly Craft led the team making 41 saves. The girls had 82 goals scored and 46 goals against.

BOYS’ SOCCER
The boys’ varsity soccer team, coached by Austin Varela, went 9-7-4 this season falling short to North Hardin in the District Tournament on Oct. 5. Senior Micah Brown was the leading scorer this year with 14 goals. Junior Matthew Covey and sophomore Nolan Thomas led the team each with 9 assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Ayden Allen led the team making 75 saves. The boys had 63 goals scored and 25 goals against.

GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY

The girls’ varsity cross country team, coached by Samantha Dale, took home the Heartland Conference team champions title over Elizabethtown this season. Senior Riley Raifsnider finished 1st overall at conference with a time of 20:15. The girls placed 4th at the Region Championship, advancing them to state. Earlier in the season, the girls placed 2nd at the Ryan Snellen Rumble meet and 3rd at the Capitol View Classic meet. Raifsnider had the lowest time for the girls this season with a 19:49 5K and finished 33rd at state.

The boys’ varsity cross country team, coached by Tim Pennington, earned Heartland Conference team runner-up this season. They placed 5th at the Region Championship, advancing them to state. Earlier in the season, the boys placed 1st at the Ryan Snellen Rumble meet, 1st at the Warren East Twilight meet, and 2nd at the Capitol View Classic meet. Sophomore Jared Fairbanks had the lowest time for the boys this year with a 16:45 5K.

GIRLS’ GOLF

The girls’ varsity golf team, coached by Paul Gray and Cody Elmore, snagged the title of Region Team Runner-up this season. Senior Katie Gray placed 3rd overall with a score of 77. The girls advanced to semi-state where the team placed 6th. Gray shot an 83 at semi-state acquiring a tie for 14th. She advanced to state finals for the fifth year in a row placing 42nd. Earlier in the season, the girls secured 2nd place at the Hardin County Cup tournament. Gray had the lowest average score on the girl’s side this year.

BOYS’ GOLF

The boys’ varsity golf team, coached by Paul Gray and Cody Elmore, was named Region Team Runner-up this season after a two-hole playoff. The boys advanced to semi-state where the team placed 6th. Junior Sawyer Hess shot an 82 at semi-state placing 34th overall. Earlier in the season, they won 1st place at the Hardin County Cup tournament over Elizabethtown and North Hardin. The boys posted the lowest tournament score since regions 2018. Sophomore Talon Garcia had the lowest average score on the boy’s side this year.

MARCHING BAND

The Central Hardin Marching Band, directed by Trevor Ervin, Vanessa Lee, and Noah Centers, performed the theme of “What Goes Around” this season and placed 8th in the state semi-finals on Oct. 29. Earlier in the season, the band won grand champion and best percussion at the Taylor County Marching Band Invitational and placed 6th at the George Rogers Clark Marching Band Invitational.
