Part of being in Future Business Leaders of America means taking the initiative to be active in your community and those around you. Our FBLA officers took the initiative this past month to do just that.
In December, FBLA officers Mya Reddick, Ashley Border, Kaylynn White, Natalie Hill, Lyla Coley, and Emily Tester visited the Uptown West Point Bank to learn about loans.
Going to West Point Bank taught the officers many different aspects of loans, such as what happens to loans when you get married, purchasing with the loan, and paying the loans off.
“I think the student body should know what you need in order to get a loan and how to make sure yours will get approved because there is a good amount of paperwork and time needed to have a successful loan.” Sophomore officer Kaylynn White said it’s important for students to know how loans work because it’s a very lengthy process.
This trip not only taught the officers different aspects of loans, but also benefited FBLA officers in other ways.
“Going to WestPoint Bank helped benefit FBLA because the officers got to know each other’s strengths,” White said, “We also got to learn about an aspect of business many of us didn’t know much of anything about. It proved how versatile the business world can be.”
“Service, Education, and Progress,” is FBLA’s motto. The officers succeeded in doing these three aspects this past month.
