About
The Central Times is the student news publication for Central Hardin High School, located in Cecilia, Kentucky, near Elizabethtown.
Central Hardin was established in 1990 when East Hardin and West Hardin High Schools were consolidated. At that time, the student newspaper was called The Bear Facts. Soon, the name changed to The Bruin Banner. In 1997, the student body voted to change the name of the publication to The Central Times.
Since 1997, The Central Times staff has won a variety of awards from KHSJA, the Kentucky High School Journalism Association and Western Kentucky University’s Mark of Excellence Competition.
With the motto, “Your Voice, Your Times,” The Central Times strives to be a publication that enhances the school environment by giving students the opportunity to become active members of their school society.
