Cici Hicks, Editor-in-Chief, Writer
Hiiii! I’m Cici Hicks! I am a junior and this is my third year on the Central Times staff. I am extremely grateful for my previous experience at the Times, and I’m looking forward to covering all the stories around Central.
Aside from writing, I LOVE music, whether playing my guitar or listening to my favorite music (The Beatles, Smashing Pumpkins, and Frank Ocean), it’s a big part of my life. I also love watching movies; my favorites are 500 Days of Summer, Dazed and Confused, and Inception.
I am never without a book in my bag. I love reading anything by Sylvia Plath; The Bell Jar is my favorite book of all time. I love reading classics, all the books that everyone should read once in their life.
This year, my goal is to tell as many stories of Central Hardin as possible, being news or feature articles, I want to focus on all things relevant to the student body. That being said, I hope this school year is amazing!!

Will Grimes, Writer, Social Media Manager
Hi Guys! Hello! Hi!!! I’m Will, and I’m a junior! This is my first year on The Central Times staff. I’ve been wanting to work for the newspaper for a very long time, and I’m glad I finally have the opportunity to support my community! I love writing, so I thought journalism would be right up my alley! I also really like photography, and I’m trying to learn how to improve my skills!
I work at HCEC-TV, where I record videos, edit videos, and overall serve the community by keeping them informed! I hope to achieve the same things while on the newspaper staff. I want nothing more than to better the lives of everyone at Central Hardin by keeping them informed and entertained! And there’s nothing I dislike more than people not knowing the truth.
Some things I like to do outside of work are listening to and making my own music. It’s probably my biggest passion, maybe even more than writing! I also love fish, or just anything aquatic! Even the freaks in the deep sea, I love them all to pieces! I hope I bring a friendly and fun energy to The Central Times, and I look forward to a great school year!

Isabella Skipworth, Writer
Hi, my name is Isabella Skipworth, and I am a senior here at Central. This is my first year on the Central Times staff, and I’m very excited about this opportunity. I’ve always loved writing, but I’d never thought about doing it this way. Ms. Sherrard approached me about joining the staff, and I love that this will give me an outlet to share my words with the school.
I want my stories to be something students enjoy reading and that also makes them think. I hope to use my voice to speak up for others and help the student body stay informed and excited about all things Central. I’m especially looking forward to interviewing teachers and students I may not know and learning from them.
In addition to writing for the Times, I am also an active member of the Executive Council and FCA. Outside of school, I’m involved in the youth groups at Grace Heartland and First Christian Church. I also enjoy reading, journaling, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. I always have a book with me or a song stuck in my head. I love deep conversations as well. In short: I love words. They have a beauty and a depth that’s so fun, and I hope to convey that in my articles for the Times.
It’s going to be a great year!

Sydney Rowser, Writer, Social Media Manager
Hiya, I’m Sydney Rowser. I am a senior and this is my first time on The Central Times staff. I’m grateful to have this opportunity to write articles that students and teachers can see.
I’ve enjoyed a lot of the creative outlets. My top three are drawing, writing, and singing. I’m never without a sketch book and my hundreds of Samsung notes of endless words of short stories, song lyrics, and random grocery lists that don’t help me remember everything I need to get. I do love hanging out with my friends and playing games.
I did commissions for a short while as it was a small dream of mine, and I was so happy to make it come true. It is harder if you don’t have a bank account but that didn’t stop me from doing it. So, remember to go forward with your dreams, even your small ones!
I hope that my articles make people stay informed and smile. I really want to do great things for the students.

Lia VanZant, Writer
Hey! My name is Lia VanZant, and I am a sophomore. This is my first year on the CHHS newspaper staff, and I’m super excited to see where it takes me. I love spending time with my family and friends, and doing the things I enjoy like playing sports and being social. Let’s learn a little bit more about me.
I don’t usually write a lot, but when I do, I enjoy it. I like to read Colleen Hoover books or just any romance novels. My favorite subject is probably English because I’m good at it and it’s never really been a challenge for me. I also play soccer and swim for Central. I like listening to music of all kinds, and love any opportunity I get to be with my friends. I would say I’m a pretty fun person.
I’m excited to be on the newspaper staff this year because I think it will be a great experience. I am most looking forward to interviewing students around the school, providing the student body with important information, and most importantly, having fun. I’m ready to see how this year goes and how much I learn. Go Bruins!!

I am looking forward to using my writing skills to further grow my skills and my love for writing! I think that our newspaper staff is so important to inform us about the issues that affect and concern us in our community and school, and I know that our staff will achieve so much this year!
A little about me: I’m involved in Beta Club, Track and Field, and Cross Country. My favorite hobby is reading, mainly classic literature, but I like reading different types of books too. I also love to paint and draw, and I love to run, especially with friends and family. I love nature and spending time with my dog. I love to learn about politics, science, and art history, and my favorite subjects are math and English.
This upcoming school year, I hope to use my writing skills to the best of my ability, make connections with the school’s community, and celebrate the amazing students and staff here at Central.
