FOOTBALL:
The Central Hardin varsity football team’s season will be covered once it has concluded. Check back for more information at a later date.
VOLLEYBALL:
The girls’ varsity volleyball team, coached by Bill Rineker, went 35-6, this season. The Lady Bruins took home the District 17 Championship title against Elizabethtown on Oct. 19. and snagged the Region 5 Championship title against Elizabethtown on Oct. 26. Their reign ended at Semi-State against Mercy on Oct. 30. Senior Addison Keith led the team in kills with 332, senior Harper Lewis led the team in blocks with 101, and junior Samantha Nelson led the team in both digs and aces. Nelson acquired 100 career digs and junior Kati Vest acquired 1000 career assists this season.

GIRLS’ SOCCER:
The girls’ varsity soccer team, coached by Justin Maddock, went 14-7-2 this season. The girls took home the District 17 Runner-Up trophy against Elizabethtown on Oct. 5 and made it to the second round of the Region 5 Championship before falling to Bethlehem on Oct. 9. Earlier in the season, the Lady Bruins held their ground at the 2023 Bruin Classic Tournament. Freshman Audrey McGee led the team in scoring averaging 1.9 goals a game and freshman Molly Bryan led the team in assists with 13.

BOYS’ SOCCER:
The boys’ varsity soccer team, coached by Austin Varela, went 14-5-4 this season. The boys took home the District 17 Runner-Up trophy against North Hardin after a double overtime penalty kick shootout on Oct. 5, and additionally took home the Region 5 Runner-Up title after a good match against Bardstown on Oct. 12. Junior Nolan Thomas led the team in scoring averaging 1.8 goals a game and led the team in assists with 13. Junior goalkeeper Ayden Allen had a grand total of 138 saves in 22 games.

GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY:
The girls’ varsity cross country team, coached by Samantha Dale, had a notable season. The Lady Bruins took home the LTH Conference Team Runner-Up title and placed sixth in the Region Championships, sending senior Hanna Grass and sophomore Julia Hobbs off to the State Championship. Grass had the fastest 5K this year with a time of 20:21.

BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY:
The boys’ varsity cross country team, coached by Tim Pennington, had a phenomenal season. The boys pulled off a 2nd place finish at the LTH Conference meet and 3rd place at the Region Championship punching the team a ticket to state. Junior Jared Fairbanks led the boys this season and placed 4th overall at the Region Champions. Fairbanks had the fastest 5K of the season with a time of 15:55.

GIRLS’ GOLF:
The girls’ varsity golf team, coached by Paul Gray, had a strong season this year. The Lady Bruins finished second in the Hardin County Cup with junior Addi Johnson placing second individually, and additionally took second at the Region Championship with Johnson and eighth grader Christin Michael tying for fifth place individually. At the Semi-State, Michael earned a trip to the State Championship and competed in Bowling Green Oct. 2-3.

BOYS’ GOLF:
The boys’ varsity golf team, coached by Paul Gray, had a successful season this year. The Bruins defended the title of the Hardin County Cup Team Champions. Freshman Rylan Jones was the Individual Champion and eighth grader Ethan Lewis finished second overall. The boys went on to take second at the Region Championship and fourth at Semi-State. Jones qualified for the State Championship individually and competed in Bowling Green Oct. 5-6.

MARCHING BAND:
The Central Hardin Marching Band, directed by Trevor Ervin and Shelby Thompson, performed the theme of “Pandora’s Darkness” this season. Earlier this school year, the band earned the title of the grand champions at both the Taylor County Contest and Muhlenberg County Contest. The Bruins concluded their season placing 9th at the KMEA State Championship.
