One of the best ways that a community can ensure strong literacy skills in its children is to make sure that the adults in their lives read to them.
From now until Nov. 22, you have an opportunity to contribute to that effort by donating gently used or new children’s books to the HCS ExCel Program.
The program is for teen parents and their children birth through four years. According to librarian Sarah Bauer, “the program is HUGELY successful in ensuring HCS students do not drop out and have a support system.”
The books collected go directly to the program and to parents to ensure they have access to books for their children.
