We are currently in the most hormonal period of our lives, high school. We started getting smelly in middle school, started getting acne, started worrying about how we look, dress, and how many people like us. We go all out to look perfect to the social or personal standards we set for ourselves. Sometimes, we do this in an unhealthy way.
We are teenagers, we are emotional, and sometimes we can be very, very stupid. Like, how sometimes we forget some other things that are important, whether it’s forgetting to brush our teeth while rushing out of the house or forgetting

about a big test in history.
Hey, we all get it, you’re overworked. You might be really worried about your grades, have sports, have relationship/friend drama, and maybe have a job after school. You’re not alone in that.
However, one big thing you should focus on is your health.
I have seen some things at this school during my time here that are well…concerning.
I have noticed a lot of students, mostly girls, have eating disorders, either diagnosed or even hiding them from adults. A handful of these girls have, sadly, embraced it as part of their personality. I will not say names, but you know if you are one of these people.
And a lot of others have also made these observations.
You must eat correctly. This means not skipping meals, not starving yourself for days or even weeks, and not running to the bathroom after a meal because you feel too bloated.
Any of you who are worried about your weight can lose weight in a healthy manner. This means not cutting back on the gluten or eating just one meal a day. One way, I have discovered, is berries. Now I will just give you the basic rundown on how they help you lose weight, with just one cup daily.
Berries, especially blueberries and raspberries, are full of fiber and three chemical reactants called phenolics, polyphenols, and antioxidants. Polyphenol is a natural chemical, and it turns a light on in a cell’s mitochondria (the power house of a cell) that tells the cell to convert all of its calories into energy, instead of fat. For more information on this, here is a video from Dr. Steven Guandy explaining in more depth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbmUKcwNQo8, and a link to a scientific study on these berries and their effect on weight loss: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1756464617305613.
