November 19, 2019
The juniors at Central have received texts over Remind about the Carson Scholarship and the Lincoln Trail Youth Salute. Some may be curious as to what exactly they could be applying for, so here are the details.
The Carson Scholars Fund awards $1,000 college scholarships to students in grades 4-11 who excel academically and are dedicated to serving their communities. Scholarship winners receive the honor of being named “Carson Scholars” and are awarded an Olympic-sized medal and a trophy for their school to celebrate their accomplishments. Previous winners of Carson Scholarships are eligible to reapply for Carson Scholar Recognition annually.
To be eligible for this scholarship you must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and display humanitarian qualities through community service. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is Dec. 4.
The Lincoln Trail Youth Salute foundation’s goal is to promote leadership in the community. Student selections are based on careful assessment of leadership abilities through biographical sketches (listed achievements & activities), written essays, and through personal interviews. This is the picture that is taken and has different accomplishments that you may have achieved listed.
To be eligible for this scholarship you must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and have possessed two positions of leadership in the community or school. The deadline to apply is Dec. 5.
