“A victim playing, talentless, failed nepo baby who has failed to launch a successful career despite leeching off TWO famous last names,” Twitter user @fearIesssummers Tweeted.

“Today a b**** really tried it, f*** Hailey Bieber,” @daylightxswift Tweeted.

“Selena better than me bc if Hailey reached out to me I would have just told her to die,” @dxnibelmontes tweeted.

“‘Hailey Bieber reached out to me-’ bro Selena needs a roundhouse kick to the f****** jaw somebody needs to rock her s***. No way that raggedy a** b**** & the Bieber’s been the hot topic for weeks and she needed to be reached out to stop the madness, girl f*** you,” @honeysucckle tweeted.

This is a tiny fraction of the hateful Tweets that both Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez have been receiving.

Recently, the both of them have been receiving negative attention from the opposite’s fandoms all because of their former and current relationships with Justin Bieber. Years ago, Gomez and Bieber were an “it” couple with plenty of fans swooning over their idealistic relationship.

Fans romanticized their relationship and desired one of their own similar to what the pair of them had. People obsessed with their relationship and were devastated at the end of their relationship.

Between 2010-2018, Justin Bieber and Gomez dated. Jelena is still a relationship that fans long for. Fans continue to talk today about this relationship, saying that Justin Bieber should be with Gomez, not Hailey Bieber.

“Idk I just feel like Justin and Selena need to get back together and that’ll end all this,” @darkoooo_ tweeted.

“It needs to end w Selena and Justin being together,” @_sadittyg tweeted.

“One day, maybe years from now but definitely one day, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are going to get back together,” @key_pimpin tweeted.

The aforementioned Tweets are from various Twitter users about the Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber drama.

The tension started on Feb. 22 when Gomez posted a Tik Tok about her eyebrows. Later that day, Bieber posted a screenshot of her on FaceTime with Kylie Jenner on her Instagram story. Also captured in this screenshot is a photo of Bieber’s eyebrows compared to Jenner’s. The internet took this as the two of them taking a hit at Gomez.

The pair denied that this was an attack on Gomez the next day. The amount of comments Gomez was receiving drove her to take a break from social media starting Feb. 23.

However, on Mar. 24, Gomez returned to Instagram with a post on her Instagram story regarding the situation.

“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity.” On Mar. 24, Gomez shared the former statement to her Instagram story. “This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.”

Hailey Bieber responded on her Instagram story as well. “I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I… In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion.”

The situation brought back to light the toxicity of fandoms and how hateful women can be towards other women. This is just one example of how toxic celebrity superfans can be.

By seeing celebrities we look up to behave in ways that harm each other and bring each other down, young individuals are given the wrong idea of how women should treat each other. With the amount of issues women face on the daily, hate from other women is not an issue they should have to deal with.

Emphasis on women supporting women is a movement we’re seeing more of in our society. Hopefully, one day we will live in a society where women hating other women will be a thing of the past.
