The Lady Bruin Soccer Team is currently leading the district as they head into the finals of the district tournament. They have a 7-0 record in the district.
The Lady Bruins played an impressive game on Wednesday, beating John Hardin’s Lady Bulldogs 10-0. This win moves them forward into the finals against the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers. This game will be played tonight at Central Hardin.
The head coach of the Lady Bruins is Justin Maddock.
“They love getting better and supporting each other and getting better each day,” Maddock said. “Their attitude has been infectious.”
The seniors this season are Maddie Berry, Josie Satterfield, Alyssa Napier, and Mckenna Johnson.
Although the Lady Bruins defeated Etown in their last match up, it will be a tough game. The girls’ team defeated the Lady Panthers 1-0 on Sept. 4.
“Everybody just needs to be bought in,” Satterfield said. “We just need to have confidence and believe that we can win.”
The team captains for the Lady Bruins are Johnson, along with juniors Shelby Eidson and Savannah Howell.
“Regardless of the result tonight, I know we’re going to give everything we have,” Eidson said. “Our team is ready to prove that we belong here as we defend our district title while establishing why we are the number one seed.”
Junior Chloe Hayes has been key to the Lady Bruin success in the district tournament, scoring four goals in the game against John Hardin alone.
“We have a stat sheet so we will look over Etown’s strengths and weaknesses,” Hayes said. “We know that they will put a lot of numbers up, so we need to attack with speed.”
The Lady Bruins are ready to put on a show tonight, the theme is Barbeque Dads and Soccer Moms if you want to dress up and show up to support the girls. Go Bruins!
