Merhaba! My name is Azra Emeksiz. I am a senior cultural exchange student in Central. I am very excited to be on The Central Times staff and do my best as a cultural ambassador.
Other than newspaper, I do lots of things. I am very open to trying new things. I am a person that believes people should get out of their comfort zone to get better, so as you can see here I am, in Kentucky. You know Kentucky is famous for its horses, so I started riding horses after I came here. Can’t say I was the best.
Of course, like lots of people, I enjoy listening to music. My favorite artists are Lana Del Rey, Şebnem Ferah, John Legend, Siya Siyabend. I listen to every genre of music, play violin, and also participate in the school choir.
Volunteering has always been something that I have done. I still continue doing it here. I am a volunteer at BunBunBrigade rabbit rescue center. It is the only bunny rescue in Kentucky. The last thing I cannot pass without mentioning is that I love hanging out with my friends and meeting new people.
I know that most people don't believe things can change by telling them, but I refuse to believe that. Everything can change, but that is not certain whether any nation or large group of people is ready to bring about this change. But the most important thing is to try to change something individually, without the support of political authorities, because change begins in the person themselves.
