‘Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the school
Not a person was stirring
Not even Mrs. Pool
The chairs were all stacked
In the classrooms with care
In hopes that Santa Claus
Would soon be there
Dewey the Goose
Was snuggled tight in his bed
As visions of warm breadcrumbs
Danced through his head
And Mrs. Case in her PJs
And Ms. Wortham, too
Had just settled in
From a nice hot cocoa brew
When out on the parking lot
There arose such a clatter
That Mr. Sisk awoke
To see what was the matter
To the lobby doors,
He flew like the wind
The cold snow came down
But Sisk only grinned
For out in the night
A wondrous sleigh did appear
With Saint Nick himself
And his eight mighty reindeer
Faster than fast,
His reindeer they came
And the jolly old man,
He called them by name
“Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer!
Now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid!
On, Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the gym!
To the top of the hall!
Now dash away! Dash away!
Dash away all!”
Then the snow it whirled
Up wild and high
And that giant red sleigh
Took off to the sky
So, Saint Nick, he left
All the teachers their gifts
Mrs. Bauer and Cannon
Vanmeter and Sisk
He left gifts for them all
Yes, Mr. Pearsall too
And away he shouted,
“Merry Christmas to you!”
