What is UVP?
UVP’s goal is to help students at Central Hardin know more about the world of politics, especially as they begin to enter that world. We do many things, like inform people about current events, set up voter registration drives, and more. It’s a wonderful club to be a part of, and we want to show everyone why they should join, so some UVP members have answered questions about our club.
Why Did You Join UVP?
Our members joined UVP for many reasons. In a questionnaire, Maya Rebolledo-Brandon said, “I joined UVP because I was interested in learning more about how the government works and I wanted to become more civically engaged.” Another member, Eden Lutz, stated, “I wanted to continue to share my opinions on situations/experiences in America.” UVP is a place where people can come together, learn about the government, and share their opinions. This is the place to be if you want to know more about our country.
What Do You Like About UVP?
UVP offers many things for its members. We have many different committees for people to join based on their interests, like voting, party planning, and newspaper, which Maya Rebolledo-Brandon said made it easier for her to contribute. Faith Knight stated that what she liked best was how the club has a family-like community. There’s many things to enjoy as a part of UVP, and there is certainly something for everyone.
What Do You Think UVP Is All About?
For everyone, UVP stands for something a little different. However, in the questionnaire sent out, most of our members agree that this club is all about those with different beliefs coming together and collaborating to inform fellow students about the political climate of the U.S.
What is Best About UVP?
One great thing about UVP is how everyone can learn from each other and share their varying opinions, a sentiment shared by Maya Rebolledo-Brandon and Faith Knight. Another thing about UVP that Eden Lutz thinks is best is “getting to talk about the different things happening in America and around the world with others.” UVP is a great outlet for learning and sharing opinions free of judgement.
Why Should People Join UVP?
As seen above, UVP is an amazing club that everyone should join. There’s so much we have to offer to students at Central Hardin. According to Maya Rebolledo-Brandon, “people should join UVP if they want to become more civically engaged, learn more about how the government works, or grow in understanding of different viewpoints and expand their thinking.” UVP will teach students to widen their worldview and think critically about current events, a skill necessary as we go into adulthood. This club offers a great opportunity to learn about the world in an understanding environment, and students should join if they don’t want to miss out.
