School nurse Heather Kennedy takes a brief break in the middle of a busy day. As the sole nurse for the sophomores, juniors, and seniors, Kennedy serves almost 1,500 students, sometimes 25 per day.

After noticing this horsehair worm exiting its host (a beetle) in the hallway on March 18, science and math teacher Chuck Pearsall went to fetch his colleague and fellow science teacher, Tina Cox. They took the opportunity to educate the English and social studies hallway about this real-life science example.
